Who's on Your Crew?

Have you seen the popular HGTV show “Fixer Upper”? Chip and Joanna Gaines renovate houses that often look like they are near condemned status in 40 minutes a week. Well, 40 minutes for the viewer! What they are able to do to these houses that are rundown, ugly, and seemingly worthless is amazing. But the Gaineses don’t do it all on their own. They have a crew of craftsman, plumbers, electricians, painters, landscapers, and contractors that all work together to turn these dumps into sought after homes. If there are only plumbers, the pipes may work but what about the flooring? If there are only painters, the interior of the house may be cheery but the curb appeal wouldn’t bring anyone in to check it out. Each member of the renovation crew is vital to making a house the best it can be.

The same is true of your healthcare crew! A good general practitioner is necessary to maintaining your physical health, but you don’t neglect dental care because you have a family doctor. You may also include specialists on your crew for allergies, hearing, and vision. All of these doctors and specialists will work together to make sure you are receiving the best and most beneficial care.

A crew that includes a general practitioner, a dentist, an optometrist, and any other specialists is off to a great start, but a complete, well-rounded healthcare team shouldn’t leave out a chiropractor. Chiropractic care addresses the root of most physical ailments by focusing on the nervous system. The nerves of the spine affect every living tissue in the human body. A chiropractor focuses attention on the spine and, in
turn, benefits the entire body. The goal of chiropractic is to treat ailments naturally without surgery or medications. However, your chiropractor wants you at optimal health and will work alongside your medical doctor and/or specialist to make sure that is the outcome.

Just like a house renovation crew works together to ensure all areas of the house are at their best aesthetically and functionally, a chiropractor will work with your other healthcare providers to ensure the same for your body. Don’t renovate your home without a contractor, and don’t care for your body without a chiropractor!
